Internetted is the name of the exhibition and project(s) associated with my undergrad thesis at Parsons School of Design.

A large part of my work as well as my research originates around the quest towards the creation of democratic spaces. The concept of internetted arose following my reading of a research essay/book written by Joshua Citarella, called Politigram and the Post Left, a study on the rise of niche leftists internet subcultures.

It opened my eyes towards various futures, ones that inevitably embrace the internet as a catalyst for social change and an already existing space for diverse thought. Citarella’s book made me concious of the fact that memes and meme culture are a crucial method in simplifying and broadening the spread of complex thought and theory.

A picture (a meme) is worth a thousand words.

The Blocks were used as a way to visualize what community and organizing can look like in a much greater way should it be carried out over the internet, void of control and monopolization by institutions and corporations which in this moment is the reality of the internet.
